Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the national philosopher of Pakistan, is among the world's great poets and thinkers. His poetic creations are famous, but his prose writings have been buried in old journals and are no longer available to us. Even in pre-partition India, they were difficult to obtain as they were scattered across the country with almost no information about their location and dates. It's not easy to understand why such great writings should have been so overlooked, because even if he had not written a single line of poetry, his prose works alone would have given him a prominent place in the literary world.
