In 2015 Ann-Marie was one of 15 writers selected to take part in a Curtis Brown Creative Writing for Children course tutored by Catherine Johnson. She lives in Suffolk with her husband and two children and when she's not writing she loves nothing more than curling up with a good book. She also loves long walks in the countryside, swimming and drinking lots of tea! The Garden of Lost Secrets was rated five stars by The Telegraph, was The Times Children's Book of the Week and has been longlisted for the 2020 Branford Boase Award and shortlisted for the Awesome Book Awards 2021. The House of One Hundred Clocks has been rated five stars by The Telegraph, was The Times Children's Book of the Week and has won the 2020 Mal Peet Children's Book Award and The East Anglian Book of the Year 2020.
