Manderley is a beautiful and a famous house owned by Maximilian de Winter. It’s not only famous for its intricate architecture, beautiful landscape and lavish parties but it’s eerie, haunting and holds dark secrets.
The mysteriousness looming at Manderley kept me captivated till the end.
The plot twist will leave you awestruck! The whole time you get this specific idea of how things will turn out but when the secret gets revealed, you will be stunned and you might even get irritated or baffled at the protagonist for how she deals with it, but that just shows how flawed she is.
Daphne du Maurier’s writing is atmospheric, polished, beautiful and captivating. She was a skilled writer. She did not fail to create a huge impact by a dead character (not a spoiler). You are never introduced to Rebecca when she was alive. From the beginning till the end she’s dead but the affect she leaves on the readers and especially the characters is remarkably captured.

An amazing read. I always thought reading classics would be difficult but this one got me over it. Beautifully created words, elegantly flowing story, accurate scene construction with a side of drama, silliness and suspense.
