The perfect thriller to read this winter!
The best novel if you are tired of all-white characters with perfect lives .Yes, there are liars, murderers. frauds with perfect reasons for their sins inside completely normal humans. And its okay to sin !
As the story progresses, the reader is made to believe that its Alicia's story that is secreted into her past . However, towards the end they realise that others have hidden more than her.
There is an unexpected twist towards the end.

The Silent Patient is Alex Michaelides' debut as an author. A No.1 New York Times and Sunday Times bestseller, the novel was swiftly snatched up for a movie adaptation owing to its massive popularity upon release.
Having studied psychotherapy himself, the author makes clever references to the field as well as some of its celebrated individuals. An articulately crafted story, with extremely well written characters that would make this book seem less like a work of fiction and more of a journey you're physically and emotionally experiencing with the characters themselves. Michealides' use of vivid descriptions captivates the reader and beautifully pieces together the masterpiece that is The Silent Patient.
If you're not a psychological thriller fan (yet!) and delving into cult classics - *cough* Silence of the Lambs, Gone Girl *cough* - overwhelm you, then this is the perfect book to dip your toes into the genre!

This book has been my first good read so far. I have never been an avid reader but after reading "The Silent Patient" my thoughts have changed about how gripping a novel can be. This novel was something I really enjoyed and it kept me going to find out what the truth was. The plot twists and the suspense made this novel worth the wait. What an amazing way to describe a story like you are watching a movie and you are the director of it. As you read the script, the scene is being played in your mind which is the beauty of this novel.

Alicia Berenson is a famous painter and her husband is a famous photographer. Alicia has been charged with murdering her husband.Alicia has been admitted to the Grove, a forensic unit in North London.

Theo Farber is a criminal psychotherapist and he’s been following Alicia’s story since the beginning. Alicia and Theo both have a painful upbringing and life. Theo sees parts of him in Alicia and wanted to help her heal. Most of the novel is told by Theo.
The book has both Alicia and Theo's parallel stories about problems that have happened in their lives. Theo has family and marital issues and Alicia has psychological and trust issues.

But the question is has Alicia killed her husband? Or not? But how can she kill him she loves him a lot.
Once I picked this book up, I couldn’t stop and finished it in a day. One of the best psychological thrillers I have ever read.
