Ann Bryant trained at the Royal College of Music and began her writing career when her daughters were little. She has published over 110 books, of which about a quarter are music resources for primary school teachers. The rest are fiction books for children aged 3 - 12, including her latest popular series about six girls who board at Silver Spires School - 'School Friends'. Ann lives in Kent. When she's not writing she travels all over the UK giving author presentations in schools, and also leads music workshops for teachers. She says 'I'm often asked what you need to be an author - well, I think it boils down to imagination and discipline, or put another way, a telescope and a microscope, OR a heart and a head.'
