Lucy is a professional medical writer and has a PhD in cell biology (and has got used to saying “No, not that kind of doctor” to anyone who asks).
Originally from Cumbria, and after a whistle-stop tour of the home counties, Lucy has finally settled with her family in Devon (UK) and enjoys talking about science, anything to do with animals, and binge-reading uplifting, happily-ever-after stories (even better if they feature scientists and/or animals).
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she accidentally wrote a novel in an attempt to escape the rollercoaster ride of home-schooling her daughter, and has now found creative writing to be a lot more fun than it was in GCSE English.
