Alexander Larman's latest book, The Windsors at War: The Nazi Threat to the Crown, was published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson in March 2023. It is the sequel to The Crown in Crisis: Countdown to the Abdication, which was published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson in July 2020 and received critical acclaim in both the UK and US and was named by the Times, Daily Mail and Daily Express as one of the best books of 2020.
Larman's first book, Blazing Star: The Life and Times of John Wilmot, 2nd Earl of Rochester was published by Head of Zeus in 2014. His second, Restoration, a social history of the year 1666, appeared in early 2016, and his third book, Byron's Women, an 'anti-biography' of Lord Byron and the women in his life, came out later that year.
He is the books editor of the Spectator World magazine and writes regularly about literature, history and the arts for publications including The Times, The Critic, BBC History Magazine, The Spectator, Telegraph and the Observer.
He lives in Oxford with his wife Nancy and daughter Rose
