Matteo Gaule was born in Malo (Vicenza, Italy) in 1969 and earned credentials from a specialized Art High School and in Advertising Graphics. After a two-year course at the Accademy of "Belle Arti" in Venice (Italy), he studied Computer Graphics for two years, entering a whole new universe of creative expression Expert in Toys Design, Paper Engineering and Prototypes Games and Puzzles he works as an illustrator and creative on projects and games for children.
He also teaches painting to children in nursery schools and elementary schools and illustration to middle school students. He studied illustration at Sàrmede (Treviso, Italy) and deepened the notions of conceptual graphics at the SIGNO® Studio under the guidance of Heinz Waibl, collaborator of Max Huber and italian designer Achille Castiglioni.
As a cartoonist for the Northeast Vicenza Local Police Consortium, he created many books on road safety for primary schools in the Veneto region and many children toys. He frequently works with the "Fondazione Città della Speranza" as an illustrator and designs covers for the "Cantastorie" series. He has published five illustrated books, greeting cards and calendars with the nonprofit Associazione Mitocon.
He has worked with numerous publishers, especially with Sassi Editore, La Spiga Editions, Mammeonline, Valentina Edizioni, Mitocon, Archeidos, "Città della Speranza" Foundation. Thanks to Sassi Editore its titles are translated in Italy, France, Canada, Germany, Holland, Spain, Greece, China, United States and in other countries of the world.
Some titles are published under the pseudonym Mathew Neil.
