Rachel Bright is a wordsmith, printmaker & professional optimist.
She is the author and illustrator of a growing collection of million-copy-selling and multiple award winning picture books which have been translated into 41 languages. She loves nothing more than spending an inky afternoon in her printmaking studio near the sea, dreaming up new ideas. Her most well-known tales include the Love Monster collection (now a major BBC TV Series), The Lion Inside, The Koala who Could and The Wolf who wanted More (collaborations with the illustrator Jim Field). She has also begun a collection of contemporary Peter Rabbit Adventures, the first of which, 'Head over Tail' hits the shelves in June 2021. She is busy working on her 27th book as we speak.
Rachel is also the overcrowded imagination behind the multi-million selling global card and gift phenomenon, the brightside, which is published on 5 continents.
When not herding words or scribbling in her sketchbook, Rachel lives the good-life on a wellbeing retreat which she co-founded by the sea in he South of England with her young family and several animals. You can find out more about Rachel and her books at
