Rafia Zakaria is an author, attorney, and human rights activist who has worked on behalf of victims of domestic violence around the world. She is a columnist for DAWN (Pakistan), and she writes for the New York Times, Al Jazeera English, Dissent, and Ms. Rafia was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan and now lives in the United States where she serves on the Board of Directors of Amnesty International USA and is completing a Ph.D in Political Philosophy focusing on Muslim women and Sharia law.
