For nearly 100 years, it has been the mission of Peter Pauper Press to create fine books and gifts that sold "at prices even a pauper could afford."
Started in 1928 by a young Peter Beilenson, who was later joined by his wife, Edna, Peter Pauper Press is remarkable in that, as a leading twenty-first century publishing company, it remains family owned and operated.
Peter's son, Nick, and his wife, Evelyn, took over the Press in the 1980s, and grew the company into a preeminent gift and stationery publisher.
Their children, John, Suzanne, and Laurence, assisted Nick and Evelyn; in the 1990s, Laurence and his wife, Esther, joined the company full-time.
Today, Laurence serves as President and Publisher, his daughter Hannah has joined the fold as an Editor, and the Press continues to grow and evolve.
Through the years, the family's vision for the company has remained a simple one: "To honor our founders’ legacy -- and our customers’ expectations -- of beauty, quality, and value."
